September Arts in Hoboken
This September Hoboken has quite a few artistic events to look forward to:
Sinatra Idol Contest: September 6, 2015 at 4pm
On the first Sunday of every month, the Museum and the Hoboken Department of Cultural Affairs have teamed up to bring back past Sinatra Idol Contest performers to help celebrate Frank Sinatra’s centennial year. On Sunday, September 6th, Sinatra Singer Marcqiese Rainey will perform. Featured as a singer at the Apollo Theater’s Amateur night, Rainey has performed at many different venues in New York City. He specializes in singing classic songs, such as those of Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole, among many other artists and genres.
Uptown Story-time at the Museum: September 17th at 10am
Librarian Penny Metsch shares stories with children ages 2 to 5 years and their caregivers at the Hoboken Historical Museum
A Different View: September 18th – October 11th
Monroe Art Center, Hob’art Gallery will host ‘A Different View,’ an art exhibition of Digital Montages by Roslyn Rose and Photographs by Don Sichler, members of the hob’art coopeative gallery. Ms. Rose combines found images with her own photographs. She combines reality with unreality and proves the validity of the merger. Mr. Sichler depicts realism from unusual angles. His pictures reveal the details of our surroundings that most people fail to notice.
Fall Family Fun Day: September 20th from 12-4pm
Education Curator Razel Solow is planning a fun-packed day of hands-on activities for kids and their parents in the Hoboken’s Historical Museum’s fall annual celebration of families.
