The end of beach days, warm weather and sunshine with the onset of September can be pretty depressing. However, luckily for Rivington residents, the seventh annual Hoboken Comedy Festival is right around the corner from Sept. 26 through Oct. 2, which celebrates Hoboken’s entertainment independence.
Presented by Comma, D Productions, the festival, in which tickets cost $25 each, will feature comedy acts by Anthony Devito, Paul Virzi and Drew Michael and many more comedians throughout the festival days. There are discounted rates available for the purchase of multiple day passes.
From Monday through Thursday, 24 amateur comedians will also perform and one winner will be named for each night who will also be able to bring about some laughs during the weekend shows. Then, finalists will gain future opportunities to perform with Comma, D Productions.
The festival will be held in eight different locations throughout Hoboken which will show the performances of 40 total comedians.
One dollar of each visitor’s ticket will go to support the Liberty Humane Society. This society supports dog adoption services and low cost clinic hours throughout Hudson County.
Comma, D Productions is a comedy promotion company started in 2006 to enhance the careers of burgeoning young comedians. Started by Dan Frigolette, a comedian himself, the company has produced over 1,500 shows throughout the United States since its inception.
Some of the sponsors for the festival include the Liberty Humane Society, Bayonne Community Bank, ShopRite Hoboken, Hmag and Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
