One of the best things about being a Rivington resident is being right in the middle of all of the action in ever-happening Hoboken, which is filled with tons of unique things to do. One such activity – which is also perfect for dreary fall weather as it entirely takes place indoors – is an escape room challenge at Puzzle Out, located at 1 Newark St., which is only about a mile and a half from your Rivington apartment.
The concept of Puzzle Out’s Hoboken location, which also has a location in Jersey City, is simple – You have been selected by the US Secret Agency to break the code being broadcasted by the enemy enigma machine during WWI. But to become an official codebreaker, you must pass the training mission: you have one hour to decipher the room and escape.
In order to be successful in your challenge, Puzzle Out advises its players to touch almost everything in the room and continue to search, open and explore everything that they see. Also, make sure that you are communicating well with your team and constantly sharing your findings, so no precious time is wasted. Plus, don’t let anyone be a spectator – make sure that everyone is assigned a task so that your team can divide and conquer.
The real-world puzzle challenge can accommodate two to eight people and the price ranges on how large your party is – for two to three people, the cost is $32 per person, for four to five people, the cost is $28 per person and for six to eight people, the cost is $25 per person. Spots are available throughout the afternoon and evening in October at every other hour.
