However, thanks to the new paint-and-sip studio sensation that has been all the rage lately, there’s now something much more fun that you can do with your mom this Mother’s Day – take her to a paint and sip studio, where you and her can craft your own paintings while enjoying a nice bottle of wine or beer.

Weekend of Wine in Hoboken

End February with a glass of wine! With a new restaurant opening, a wine and craft event, and wine festival the last Friday of the month, February ends on an awesome note in Hoboken.

 Friday, February 26th be sure to check out Grand Vin, a new restaurant featuring an array of wines, craft beers, and delicious dishes made from local ingredients. Beginning at 5:00PM, Grand Vin opens its doors for a soft opening, which will feature their full drink menu, complimentary passed hors d’oeuvres, and live music. Located at 500 Grand Street, Grand Vin is sure to be the perfect place to unwind after work or relax with friends.

 New Jersey’s 4th Annual Winter Wine Festival takes place this Friday as well, from 7-10PM. If you don’t mind a short drive, enjoy three hours of over 150 wine tasting options, live jazz music, and a free wine glass. The event will take place at the Hilton in Short Hills, NJ, with net proceeds going to Family Promise of Bergen County. Hang out and meet up with other wine lovers while and enjoy a live performance from the award winning David Bach Consort.

 If you’d rather get a little more hands on, you can make a DIY Rustic Mirror at DIY Uncorked. This event will take place at 49 Harrison Street in Hoboken from 7-10PM. DIY Uncorked will host a wine and mirror craft workshop, where you can make your own mirror while sipping a glass of wine. The event is BYOB, and events fill up fast, so be sure to sign up sooner rather than later.

Pinot Palette Opening in Hoboken

We can look forward to a new business addition to Hoboken this month, as Pinot Palette has announced that it will be opening a new studio location on Newark Street in Hoboken in late January.

 Owned by Jennifer DiPietro, the new studio will offer guests a chance to paint their own masterpiece, drink wine & beer and enjoy a “creative atmosphere of fun and conversation.” Pinot’s Palette of Hoboken will host a media/community VIP night on Friday, January 22nd, following a ribbon cutting at 6:15 p.m. An event for friends and family will follow on Saturday, January 23rd. Classes will open to the public the following week, where teachers will walk you through the paintings step by step.

 According to a release, the studio will be B.Y.O.B. for beer and wine to accommodate local liquor laws (so no hard liquor). The space includes a private balcony with an additional shared balcony and will seat up to 36 guests. In addition to public classes, the studio will be available for private parties, fundraisers and corporate team-building events. Their first class is scheduled from 7-9pm for Thursday, January 28th titled, Vino, Cioccolato, Amore. “A great painting for lovers of wine, chocolate and, of course, love.” Sounds like the perfect date night!
