Hoboken’s Love for Art
New Jersey’s Hoboken is a great place to experience art, and the month of love is really starting off with some art appreciation. February begins with style in Hoboken, as an opening reception at the Gallery at Garden Street Lofts will host its next artist, local photographer Teresa Kruszewski. The gallery highlights a new local artist every four months and as the third Hoboken area artist to have works displayed on the lobby walls of Garden Street Lofts, Kruszewski’s work will be on display from February 1st through May 31st.
An opening reception for residents, guests of the artist and the local community will be held on Tuesday, February 2nd, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the gallery located at 1425 Garden Street in Hoboken. The event will feature food and wine, and visitors will get a look at Kruszewski’s striking black and white photographs. Her process involves scanning the negatives at a high resolution and completing the darkroom work on her computer. Kruszewski is also a commercial photographer specializing in architecture, events and portraiture.
If you’re interested in checking out other galleries, Hoboken has quite a selection: The hob’art gallery (Monroe Art Center, 720 Monroe St 2nd Fl) is a great place with monthly art shows that include free food and drink. If you like interesting and unique furniture, Urban Consign & Design (650 Newark St) is a fantastic gallery to pick up some ideas/items for your Rivington apartment.
