Two New Hot Spots in Hoboken
This spring, Rivington residents have some new hot spots to check out. If you love French food or donuts, you’re in luck!
Barbès – If the name of this French/Moroccan restaurant sounds familiar, that’s because it was originally located in New York City. Lucky for Rivington residents, Barbès’ building was sold last year and the owners (former Hoboken residents) decided to reopen just a five-minute walk away from your apartment. Their menu will include traditional French cuisine, such as duck confit and steak au poivre with pommes frites. Moroccan specialties will include couscous Marocain traditionnel (couscous with steak or chicken) kefta tagine (lamb meatballs, French green peas, and Moroccan spices in a light tomato sauce), and a variety of delicious skewers. Barbès will also be serving specialty cocktails and wine to pair nicely with your meal.
The LoDG – The Law of Donutgineering is a craft doughnut delivery service that is now open for business. Currently, The LoDG’s menu features six daily staples as well as an occasional “special of the day”. Some of their favorites are the “Pig N’ The Fig” (a donut topped with fig carnalized bacon and stuffed with cheesecake) and “Sweet & Fowl” (a maple glazed donut stuffed with buttermilk fried chicken). Orders can be placed online and all doughnuts are $4 each with a minimum order of three doughnuts. LoDG will also be adding gluten free and vegan options soon.
