At this show, sure to be uplifting for any visitor, featured are bright colors, the feeling of joy, as well as unusual scenes and images that will be sure to keep you lingering at each and every work of art. The show, which is in its 16th year this year, will run until Feb. 12 from 1 to 5 p.m Thursday through Sunday. Artists featured in the show include Carla Cubit, Tom Egan, Olga Guerra, Ann Kinney, Nupur Nishith, Jean Paul Picard, Rich Roberts, Murty Rompalli, Leslie Rubman, Don Sichler, Meredeth Turshen, Miriam Untoria, Ibou Ndoye, and Liz Cohen.

Hob’art aims to bring art to the Hoboken community and help artists, market, exhibit, and sell their art, which would be perfect for your Rivington apartment to add a fresh and local take to your home. The organization is also active in local art events and they hold several exhibits throughout the year featuring new and undiscovered as well as established artists, so if you can’t make it to this exhibit, there will definitely be more later in the year.

Also, if you want to help support local art, you can also donate to the cause at hob-art.org or you can visit their website, call 201-683-6252 or email info@hob-art.org if you have your own works of art that you would like to have featured!

Hoboken’s Love for Art

by admin

New Jersey’s Hoboken is a great place to experience art, and the month of love is really starting off with some art appreciation. February begins with style in Hoboken, as an opening reception at the Gallery at Garden Street Lofts will host its next artist, local photographer Teresa Kruszewski. The gallery highlights a new local artist every four months and as the third Hoboken area artist to have works displayed on the lobby walls of Garden Street Lofts, Kruszewski’s work will be on display from February 1st through May 31st.

An opening reception for residents, guests of the artist and the local community will be held on Tuesday, February 2nd, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the gallery located at 1425 Garden Street in Hoboken. The event will feature food and wine, and visitors will get a look at Kruszewski’s striking black and white photographs. Her process involves scanning the negatives at a high resolution and completing the darkroom work on her computer. Kruszewski is also a commercial photographer specializing in architecture, events and portraiture.

If you’re interested in checking out other galleries, Hoboken has quite a selection: The hob’art gallery (Monroe Art Center, 720 Monroe St 2nd Fl) is a great place with monthly art shows that include free food and drink. If you like interesting and unique furniture, Urban Consign & Design (650 Newark St) is a fantastic gallery to pick up some ideas/items for your Rivington apartment.
