With the sweltering hot weather settling in, nothing compares to a nice dip in cool water. If you are looking for a day trip or something beyond your usual beach spot, there are several beaches around the New Jersey and New York area not too far from us here at The Rivington! Take a look at this beach guide and see where you can adventure too for some sand and sun this summer.
Jones Beach: With over 6 miles of sand to enjoy, Jones Beach is one of the most popular for New York residents over the summer. Bring a beach towel, chairs, volleyball and pack a cooler of food and drinks for a day of fun. Robert Moses is another option, which is about twenty minutes further out on the island at the end of Jones Beach. If you don’t have a car and are looking for public transportation options, take the Path into NYC and the LIRR to Freeport and hop on one of the shuttle busses that will take you right to the water! For transportation options and driving directions take a look at their website!
Sea Bright: About an hour away from Hoboken, this local beach is a nice spot if you are not up to a far drive out to Cape May or LBI. They are open Monday through Friday and host special events throughout the summer. They also have a farmers market where you can do some shopping if you need a break from the sun. You can visit their main website to learn about all of their amenities!
Belmar: Just over an hour from The Rivington in Monmouth County, Belmar Beach is another great spot if you are looking for a day trip this summer. With almost a mile and a half of beach to enjoy they offer umbrellas and chairs, concession stands, cell phone stations as well as water stations and much more so guests can enjoy a day of sand and sun!
